PHOTOS: LA County's First Off-Leash Dog Park Officially Opens

Diginitaries and dog lovers gathered Friday for the official opening of the Crescenta Valley Dog Park.

Applause and barks of approval provided the soundtrack for the official opening ceremony Friday of the Crescenta Valley Dog Park, Los Angeles County's first off-leash dog park.

In addition to the variety of dogs and their owners, attendees included Supervisor Michael Antonovich, Assembly members Anthony Portantino and Mike Gatto, and Crescenta Valley Town Council President Cheryl Davis, who thanked everyone who took part in helping open "this little slice of heaven."

While the ceremony marks the park's official opening, the public has been able to use the park since the beginning of October.
