River Communities Alliance Meets Tonight
The network of 14 regional neighborhood councils will discuss and possibly write a letter of support for the Los Angeles River Ecosystem Restoration Study.
The Alliance of River Communities, which represents neighborhood council leaders stretching from Los Feliz to Eagle Rock and the Hollywood freeway, is scheduled to meet Thursday at the Glassell Park Community and Senior Center, located at 3750 N. Verdugo Rd, 90065. Among the issues on the agenda for discussion and possible action are a letter of support to the Los Angeles City Council for the so-called "Alternative 20" Los Angeles River ARBOR study—an acronym for "Alternative with Restoration Benefits and Opportunities for Revitalization." The focus or the study is a 10-mile stretch of the L.A. River called the Glendale Narrows, the river’s most naturalized stretch that runs approximately from Griffith Park in Los Feliz through Atwater Village and Silver Lake's Frogtown.
