VIDEO: Remembering Art Snyder

The former L.A. City councilman touched many hearts in his 79 years.

Art Snyder was born in the Lincoln Heights area in 1932 and breathed his last in Huntington Beach on Nov. 7, just three days before his 80the birthday. A former U.S. Marines captain, he served on the Los Angeles City Council, representing Eagle Rock, Highland Park and other parts of Northeast L.A. from 1967 to 1985. Funeral services for Snyder, replete with a 21-gun salute by U.S. Marines, were held at the Forest Lawn cemetery in Hollywood on Nov. 14.
