VIDEO: Eagle Rock Elementary Celebrates $350,000 Urban Greening Grant

A group of parents at Eagle Rock Elementary School & Magnet Center were in the spotlight last week when they gathered in the school’s garden to celebrate a $350,000 state grant that the school won to expand and improve green spaces on campus and open them to the larger community.

The parents worked with the Hollywood Beautification Team, an environmental group, to get the grant from State of California Proposition 84 funds. In this video, Eagle Rock Elementary School Principal José Posada thanks parents for their hard work, and the director of the Hollywood Beautification Team, Sharyn Romano, talks about how caring for schools is a fundamental aspect of a community’s vitality.
