Called the 2011 "Vincinians," or "Conquerors," the seniors stood out for their graduation rate of 93 percent—an astonishing achievement, given that last year 364 students graduated ERHS with a graduation rate of 73 percent.

Student speakers welcomed the gathering in five different languages, and many of the speeches were given in Spanish and English. There were many tense moments for the students as they waited to walk toward the center of the stage to receive their diplomas. But once they got going, emotions broke loose.
