Painting by the L.A. River on a Hot Summer Afternoon

It took Richard H. Probert all of 10 minutes to paint what you see on the canvas in the photograph above this past Tuesday along the L.A. River in Atwater Village. A Toluca Lake en plein air painter, Probert is an acquaintance of Alex Schaefer, the Eagle Rock artist who made headlines last year when he sold a painting of the Van Nuys branch of Chase Bank in flames for $25,000 on eBay.
