Sipping Lemonade for a Cure at Green Bean (Photos)

A fun-filled fundraiser dedicated to pediatric cancer research.

At Green Bean, which prides itself in being what it describes as a “community family resource”—diametrically opposed to a boutique—owner Traci Green welcomed Eagle Rock families to a fun-filled afternoon dedicated Saturday to raising funds for Alex's Lemonade stand, a charity supporting pediatric cancer research. The occasion was filled with story times, musical performances and an appearance by Fluffy, a pet snake.

Neighborhood businesses Silikids, manufacturers of silicon kiddie equipment, and cutiepies, a pie and dessert bakery, also supported the event by staffing its signature lemonade stand (with the silikids owners' daughters, ages 5 and 4), and supplying treats and sweets (such as cutiepies' deliciously tangy lemon bars).
