Eagle Rockdale Community Garden & Art Park
1103 Rockdale Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90041
The Eagle Rockdale Community Garden and Art Park is an aesthetic and agricultural gardening space that offers membersMore of the community the opportunity to observe the processes of gardening, all the way from planting and cultivation through harvesting. The garden was developed by TERA (The Eagle Rock Association) through the vision of Master Gardener Mary Tokita and the use of a neighborhood matching funds grant, volunteer labor, volunteer contributions from local artisans, plus the use of TERA community beautification funds. The garden reclaimed an abandoned public right of way, which was put to productive use to be enjoyed by the entire community. There are classes and activities in addition to gardening. The Eagle Rockdale Community Garden and Art Park is located at the easterly end of Eagle Rock, south of Shelby-Lanark Park. Eagle Rockers love to garden and there is usually a waiting list for a plot. For more information contact Garden Manager Mike Woodward, who also regularly conducts gardening classes on the property.
