I'm an artist with quite an eclectic way of working. My most recent project, Get Hubbied, was held in October 2011 at the Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock. Through that enriching experience, I fell in love with Eagle Rock and its artistic support system.

Get Hubbied was a wedding I imagined and curated. I invited more than 30 artists to take a role in interpreting different parts of an actual wedding through their art work. I interviewed couples, selected one, and worked with the artists, the couple and their families to complete the project's vision.

My artwork was being the conductor of the experience. Check out www.gethubbied.com for the whole story. My current Eagle Rock-centric project is meant to be full of humor, but will be executed with devotion, hard work, diligence and care. I am very serious about making this a stimulating Eagle Rock celebratory experience.

Check out my general website, www.hubbyco.com, and click on "Eagle Rock, The Rock and Eagle Shop," for the full press release and some images. The shop will sell anything and everything relating to rocks and/or eagles, and will include art works from more than 20 contemporary artists, selected specifically for the way their work complements the theme of the shop.

Their work will be mixed in together with the thrifted objects to create a dynamic, playful and thought-provoking atmosphere. The idea was spawned by Mason Williams and Ed Ruscha back in the early 60's as a play on words and a conversation piece that has lasted to this day. I heard about it through them, and over the last few years have become enthralled with bringing the idea to life. This past year, I amassed the shop's contents—more than 250 objects so far—as well as created a logo and merchandise spanning everything from buttons, pencils and tote bags to decals and fake tattoos.

I want to open the storefront for a limited lifespan of two months, in the center of Eagle Rock. I am looking to find someone in the Eagle Rock community who would sponsor the project and donate the space for this worthy, artful, and engaging addition to the community.

I am sure it will bring joy and get loads of appreciation within Eagle Rock and beyond. I, along with my assistants, will install and de-install the show/shop and leave the space in pristine condition after the two months are up.
