'Dear Thief: Please be Honest'

A stolen bicycle prompts an open letter posted on Colorado Boulevard.

This plain-looking but impassioned sign was found posted on a tree facing Cutlab hair salon on 2112 1/2 Colorado Blvd.:

Dear Thief:

If you (by faith) get to read this flyer, I want to let you know that you can keep the bike & I forgive you. I only ask that you do one favor. Please be honest—people know exactly how you went about obtaining "your" new bike. I truly hope that your realize you've made a mistake & you will stop stealing because it is rude, unfair, immature & well, automatically makes you a jerk. Best of luck to you in someday becoming a better citizen / person. God Bless you.

Sincerely,

"Be kind. Everyone you meet is carrying a heavy burden."—Ian MacLaren
